CSA Teammates

Casey Spacht, General Manager--
Hey, I'm Casey. I like adventures and primitive skills--and adventures that require primitive skills! So Lancaster Farm Fresh, I've been around since the beginning planning stages of this thing which is almost seven years ago. Already! Aside from working with our farmers, farming myself, stocking the office windowsills with skateboard and punk mags, and skateboarding in the warehouse parking lot during rare downtime, I do other things, too. I'm an herbalist, bio dynamic farmer, daddy, mushroom hunter, hiker, self-named wannabe banjo player, and experienced wild foods forager. Go mother Earth!

Tyson Snader, CSA Manager--
Hello, I'm Tyson, the CSA Manager. With my recent acquisition of a nine-tray dehydrator, I've been eating even healthier and growing a pantry full of seeds. Energy bars! Camping food! I graduated from Susquehanna University, hiked the Appalachian Trail, and have been living and working in the DC Metro area in the biodiesel and environmental consulting industries since. I'm glad to be back home in Lancaster and working here at the Coop. I'm close to my family again--excellent for my 15-month old son--and for me, working to offer our community an alternative to the conventional food system.

Cathy Mannion, CSA Assistant--
Hi, I'm Cathy Mannion. I have a slight New Jersey accent because I'm not from here originally, but I do have a history with the Coop. I actually discovered the CSA program back in 2008 as a first-time shareholder and even worked packing share boxes for a short time while I raised my then 2-year-old daughter. I grew most of my own veggies at the time and also wanted to experiment with some "out of the box" varieties (get it?!). I started working in the CSA office in July, 2012 and have made it my goal to sustain my daughter and me on our veggie share and coop store purchases only. There will be more to come about this!

Sara Hummer, CSA Assistant--
Hi there, my name is Sara. Please save the H for my last name. After moving to Lancaster two years ago to research local food networks and community for grad school, I’m so glad to now be working here. I'm even happier to be helping shareholders access healthy, organic food while simultaneously supporting our local farmers. Yea, for the CSA team! When I’m out of the office I can usually be found exploring Lancaster (I <3 city life!) or trying a new recipes from my weekly share or letting my cat Mel wear the bow tie he so deserves.

Rachel Hansen, CSA Assistant--
Hello, my name is Rachel. Envision the name tag. I started with the Coop very early last spring—new to CSAs, local food, kale, parsnips, and turnips. My life has changed immensely, and I love it. I came to the Coop after working two part-time academic jobs and driving over 500 miles a week—not very sustainable. I am thrilled to be able to live and work in one community with an incredible group of people and more so, to be a part of something awesome like spreading the health of local, organic veggies. When I’m not here, I’m feeding Team Twenty Legs—my two Thoroughbred mares and three German Shepherds—and trying to keep up with their busy schedules.
